Interview and Feature on Our Hen House: Animal Activist Steve Hindi of SHARK

A Pigeon Friend

“Things can get better. You just have to try.”

You might not know it by the posts on this blog, but I have been working hard (specifically, writing) lately. I was honored to get the chance to interview Steve Hindi of Showing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK) to talk about his journey from hunter to activist—how he went from fishing for sharks to protesting pigeon shoots—and the highs and lows of fighting for animal rights.

My feature about the interview is up at the Our Hen House online magazine. It was the first time I’ve ever done anything remotely resembling journalism. Pretty neat!

Also, if you’re a member of the Our Hen House flock, you can access an exclusive extra piece on the interview with Hindi and get a closer look at the more personal insights I gained from talking to someone who is a tireless and hard-working fighter, someone who I think is an inspiration for not just animal activists but everyone.

From hunter to animal activist. Sometimes, the people you least expect can become your strongest allies.
